I’ve decided to challenge myself to a summer long project using tumblr to share a picture or video every day of the summer. I’ll post the pictures to my Twitter feed along with my Facebook timeline, but everything will be shown on my tumblr feed. Here’s the link: http://jimnaprstek.tumblr.com/
Update: Spring 2012
March 8, 2012
Haven’t been doing a very good job at keeping this blog updated. I’ve found to be more of a micro-blogger simply based on the fact that I don’t often have the dedication to sit down and blog for more than a sentence or two at a time. No excuses, though, which is why I’m trying to get back into the swing of things.
Last fall was nuts. Mike Splittgerber and I took the campus by storm with the creation of DuhawkFutbol, a site dedicated to the coverage of the Men’s and Women’s Soccer Teams at Loras College. Our coverage did not go unnoticed, as many parents, fans, and other students at Loras took note of what we were doing. More importantly though, I was able to create some friendships with the players that I’ll never forget. They all brought me into the Soccer Family, and I appreciated every minute of it.
Since then, things have somewhat calmed down, with the extracurriculars that is. I’m enrolled in 3 advanced gen eds at Loras, and it’s been a wake up call. All in all, I’m making it by and just keep the thought of graduation on my mind.
Until next time, follow me on Twitter to keep tabs on what I’m doing.
Snow Day=No Work
February 2, 2011
In case you haven’t heard, there’s supposed to be some kind of bad snowstorm…so I don’t have school tomorrow. Oh wait, I wouldn’t have school anyways. But this means that I may be travelling to Des Moines, Iowa a day early than originally planned. It will be good to spend some non-stressful time with Daniel Randolph before the Iowa College Media Association Conference and Awards Ceremony.
I remember this time last year and receiving an award for the 2nd Best Photographic Portfolio. I was ecstatic, but now realize that it puts a lot of pressure on me for this year. Regardless of what happens, I’m looking forward to it.
This past weekend, I produced my first film for the Canned Film Competition. With a crew of about 15 people, we pulled off a pretty good short film. It was a great learning experience for me, and I’m really looking forward to the next opportunity that I will have to do this. Later this week I will be posting a link to the film so you can check it out.

So here is the first blog on my new site. This was a project that I started over my Christmas break and ran into a roadblock when my first design wasn’t really working the way I wanted. Now I’m happy with the design and the functionality of the website. As for long term, I want this site to display my work and my skills, so the plan is to update it quite frequently. As for this blog, I’m not quite sure how long it will last to be honest. I’m a huge user of Twitter and Facebook, and that’s where the extent of sharing my thoughts has reached. So I’m not expecting to post here every day, but hopefully whenever something major happens, I’ll be able to write a few lines here for whomever wishes to see.
If you want to get a hold of me, feel free to shoot me an email, tweet, or facebook message.
